Quick Drive poster remake done for the same project as the last. This one was in the style of Brain Sanders. In case you don't know of him. He made the newest Mad men poster. This one had to use his older work as ref. If this wasn't due tomorrow and I was actually making an effort I would have done it traditionally because OMG copying his style in digital is a CHORE
Nice effort for a last minute project! I love Brian Sanders, too! I've been attempting his drawing style lately and have been moving away from digital work to actually applying pencil and ink to paper. Sanders is impossible to recreate digitally, even though you did a great job on the background buildings especially, and Ryan Gosling looks fantastic here. I think digital applications are too perfect for the Sanders style, because he was using stuff that hasn't been recreated on a computer yet.
Thanks C:> If I'd had more time and I'd cared more for the class I would have made an effort in traditional. As it was, starting work at 4 in the morning is never a good approach lol But I really liked his space illustrations, and for a few of those I don't even know how he made them. The pinks though, I liked that.
It's been kind of a jigsaw puzzle for me! I've been playing around with different materials to get similar effects: half-dry inks, acrylics, etc. He talks about how they did some of their process on his website. I love how it's a fun mix of painting, drawing, and just straight out chaos! I know what you mean about needing to get something done last minute though . I've been entrenched in the art school treadmill for over a decade, and sometimes you just gotta get shit done.
Gosh, this movie was so.. silent...
this looks cool
Ooo very nicely done ;w;b
